Message from Chief Constable Jim Cessford

There is no question that we are facing challenging times that dictate an environment of constant change and advancement. Having said that, there are some things that must remain firmly entrenched in how we, the police, conduct our business.

It is my belief that quality policing rests on four pillars in order to achieve and sustain success. These four pillars, Public Trust, Public Confidence, Professionalism and Public Safety must be the cornerstone on which we build if we are to provide quality policing. If we allow any of these pillars to erode, we compromise our ability to provide effective policing to the community we serve.

I would like to clarify what I mean by the four pillars by providing a brief summary of each.

Public Trust: The public must trust that the police will perform their duties with honesty and integrity.
